Govt. College Panarsa

Established in 2015,the Department of History is one of the Founding Departments of the Government College Panarsa. The Department offers Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with History as a pass course. The department imparts quality education to the under graduate students in different areas of history such as Ancient, Medieval and Modern Indian History; Modern and Contemporary World History; basic knowledge of Archaeology, Museology and Archives; Gender History; Environmental History; Socio-cultural History; History of Art and Architecture; History of Himachal Pradesh etc. The approved faculty strength of the department is one.

Vision:

Through teaching and outreach efforts in Indian history within the framework of global history, the History Department seeks to increase students' awareness of the past and its legacy. We think that students can comprehend the present and look towards the future only if they have a critical understanding of the past.

• Transform the students into citizens who are critically informed about the past and its consequences for the present and future.
• Through their practicum, seminars, and extension activities (such as historical tours and travels), we encourage our students to actively interact with the past—not as spectators but as practitioners and participants.
